| Hole # 1 - Par 4 - hcp 15 |
|
A good starting hole to warm up. No particular difficulties, except the choice of the club for the tee shot. For me it will be a 4 iron to secure a bogey. Three welcoming fairway bunker will kill your chances of a good start if you ever visit them. On the 2nd shot, stay short of the sand, then a good chip will carry you on the green and leave you a chance to sink the putt for par. score 5 (+1)

That's gonna be a tricky shot towards a well protected uphill green in the front. You also will have to deal with the wind often oriented right to left that will worsen your draw. Don't miss behind the green otherwise a killer chip is waiting... Bogey player, 2 wedges will carry you on the green close to the pin to make no worse than one over par and why not a 3 ? Be careful with the huge slope.

A couple of trees has been removed (just behind the bunker in the middle of the photo). You'll have to take care of the creek crossing the fairway 220/240 m from the tee shot. During the hot season, the water hazard is easily reachable, the choice of the club is delicate. The second shot (150/160 m) is very demanding toward an elevated green which is protected by two deep bunkers 10 m in front of the green. A too long fade? another bunker is waiting your ProV1. A well struck hook ? be prepare to deal with the rough an the slopes of the green. The pro advice: David will tell you (if your are an amateur hcp 15 or more) to hit a 4 or 5 iron from the tee, in order to place the ball between the fairway bunker and the creek. He will ask for a short iron (8 or 9) in front of the sandy traps, then a small chip and two putts will be not worse than some quick hook or slice in the trees from the tee shot. Anyway a good chip will leave you a putt for the par.

From now and up to the nine, you enter in the amen corner of this golf course...! Par 4, 361 m, the length is not the main challenge. However to attempt to reach the green in 2, you'll have to hit a long fade through a row of high trees 120 m off the tee box, towards a narrow fairway. Fear the tee shot ?... nevertheless you have to hit a good 5 or 6 iron to clear the creek and keep a good line for the second shot. Slice or worse, hook, are forbidden on this hole. The green is at the top of the uphill narrow fairway between high oak trees. A deep bunker on the right will test your skills, and if you miss on the left, you'll have an absolute chip of the hell to maintain the ball on the downhill putting surface.
